I'm saving these mostly for myself and some of you may already know about these but i kinda want to show 'em anyway. Also, my commentary.
This article is a stub! I plan to expand on this list further later. I want to write about too many things.
This DAW is pretty cool.
It was designed to be friendly to beginners. That is why it's weird. The best analogy to all those imitations Beepbox creates i could think of are tracker programs everyone was using for games in Amiga.
DAW is based on built-in synthesisers and pattern programming. Vanilla version allows for maximum of 8 synth channels and 8 noise channels at once.
Beepbox has mods that remove most of these limitations and keep the DAW simple. Notably, UltraBox, which introduced loading samples to the songs. Most people in Beepbox community use SlarmooBox for more FM customization. I use Beepbox because i enjoy the challenge.
Beebpox does not allow to use your own synthesizers and VSTs. SlarmooBox can load samples, so people use samples for a drums as unpolished spectrum synth sucks. This is where i learnt about sound design techniques and EQing. If you're checking BeepBox out as a total beginner, my suggestion is to take time to play with FM envelopes and EQing and see what they create.
I'd want to write short demos time from time without much of the advanced stuff like overbloated VSTs. And to be honest, why i'd not use Beepbox for them? Though i personally want to record instruments in some sort of sudio and then master it in some software. Beepbox was not built for this. I've heard that Albelton is good.
This is a map of communities formed around genres of Electronic Music. Find music snippets in this place and read about some background regarding genres.
It remains one of my favourite sites. It's slightly outdated — the work on it was fully stopped somewhat in 2016.
This guide might help you if you're searching for your people. Ishkur writes both about people and their music, describes who enjoys what. He does not hesitate to say his opinions on scenes, mocking them. He rejects pop culture and trendwhoring. Maybe that's why most people in the comments announce that he's elitist? That being said, you might be dissapointed if you like Liquid Funk. And i'm here for the music.
I'd like to mention it's not the first version of the guide. Many, many people direct beginners to his older flash versions which is totally solid choice because of the nostalgia but i DO NOT endorse viewing them first. Those versions are quite messy compared to this current version, maps are nearly unreadable and genres LACK accurate history background.
I'm suprised most people don't know about this streaming service. This is a music shop and THE music sharing device. If you don't want to download songs to your memory to listen without internet i could not recommend this enough.

If you want to find cool stuff don't hesitate to dig, because there's a lot of gold here! This lesson was learned the hard way.
Digitised rock albums. Contains mainly Hard Rock and Metal. Be cautious: open this website only with adblock!
Was my favourite radio station until it was shut down due to lack of funding. It still exists which i'm really happy about! Albeit it's online-only.

Is proprietary game engine created in 2012 for the specific purpose of whipping up adventure games with your average puzzle games as a breaks between the story beats. Its scripting philosophy reminds me of Construct 2. It's quite rigid: AppSalute contains ready-for-use game templates within the engine, so to make your own thing you'd have to really try. I didn't really use it so it's hard to say something for this at the moment. Want to explore it a bit then probably write an entire article on it because it's too interesting to ignore.
Game engine that was designed for making small games on your phone! Fancade does the heavy lifting of marketing by providing platform where the games are published. Sort of like Core, GDevelop or Roblox. The closest thing to its scripting language is Unreal Engine's blueprints. It was designed for arcady casual games with millions of levels, but of course you can code anything.
It can be pretty intimidating for beginners. Especially the way you create models for the game. You build them like blocks (you can also draw rectangles with the same tool). Then you'd hit "run" and notice that your custom object that you built was glued with blocks you didn't want to. Use the brick tool to remove that glue; it's indicated with dots.
The game engine itself is pretty solid and great for killing boredom or for rapid prototyping. If you're considering just playing games, Fancade has a quest mode and battle mode to keep you busy. Company behind Fancade also released several spin-offs with even more features that are currently unavailable through main app.
My biggest concern about Fancade is that it is cashgrab right now. Games shop, Battle mode, and finally developers' negiglence. Yes, devs are pretty much dead silent. Fancade LLC wants to scale but is currently in the verge of collapsing (not profitable) so updating the engine is abundance.
Site contains games for retro platforms. Not only for NES as title implies. This is pretty big considering all the archives are being shut down.
Was a publisher that was focused on games with level editor. I am nostalgic for this stuff. My favourite games were Coloraze and Cat Ninja. Their most famous published game is still up to this day! It was ported to HTML5 towards the end of Trackmill's service: https://www.freeriderhd.com/
Didn't dig enough to find all their games, but i believe that they all were archived somewhere. Possibly in flashpoint. Instead i opted for finding another sources of evidence. I hope you'll find them interesting!
