American people and Russian people operate on fundamentally different psychologies but their goverment's direction for the future (granted, also the direction of the entire world) is corporatism. Corporatism is fascism. It’s the worst kind of fascism because we’re living in corporatism. I fucking hate corporatism.
And corporatism in those two countries are more apparent when you look at suburbs and then at our “жилые комплексы”.
Suburbs are cheap crap advertised as an ultimate comfort zones. They are also expensive as fuck. They are also literally islandes of indentical two-story houses divided by roads and highways. “Жилые комплексы” (my best guess at literal translation is “living apartments systems”) are cheap crap advertised as an ultimate comfort zones. They are also expensive as fuck. They are also literally islandes of indentical 25-story houses divided by roads and highways.
They don’t even try to make them comfortable to live in. It’s like you building another minecraft world in creative mode. And then you decide: fuck it, you’ll just copypaste a bunch of concrete crap and some school, and of course make it useful for the cars; I don’t care if people go hours to school due to nearest school already being filled with too many people due to you building too much housing.
Per usual, comparing Russia to America is quite pointless and also harmful. We hinder our progress when we allow someone somewhere to yell “but- but- BUT WHAT ABOUT AMERICA? IT SUCKS, TOO” instead of fixing problems. I’m getting tired of these comparisons. But famous phrase “you are not immune to propaganda” also works here. I couldn’t help but compare. Looking back, I definitely was a moron and you’ll see it more clearly as time goes on (trust me, indentifying as a cat is extremely moron-esque but I can’t help it). I thought it was a fun exercise. And... For difference to exist, the similarity must exist too. And it sadly exists.
